PUZIGO is a jigsaw puzzle game published on Steam by Nexelune. This page describes exactly what data the game sends, why it is sent, and what is kept.

The short version

What the game sends

PUZIGO contacts api.puzigo.com when you begin a puzzle and when you complete one. Each request contains:

Steam authentication ticketA short-lived token issued by Steam. We pass it to Valve, and Valve tells us which Steam account it belongs to. We never accept an account ID supplied by the game client itself.
Piece countHow many pieces the puzzle had.
Time takenHow long the puzzle took, in seconds.
Completion timeWhen you finished the puzzle. It is used only to check the result against the time you started, and is not stored.
Assist flagWhether you completed the puzzle without using assist features. Some achievements depend on this.
Event IDA random identifier for that one completion, so the same result is not counted twice.
Game versionWhich build you are running.

Nothing about the image you were assembling is sent — not the file, not its name, not its dimensions.

If a save cannot be read

Very rarely a save file becomes unreadable. When that happens PUZIGO can send us a short diagnostic report so we can find the cause and stop it happening again. Nothing is sent unless you agree. The game shows you the exact contents first, and sending is off by default.

The report describes only the shape of the failure. In full, it can contain:

The report contains no file names and no text you typed. The name of your image, the names you gave to sorting cells, and the contents of your save are not included. The piece count and the file size are rounded precisely so that they cannot be worked backwards into the shape of your picture or the amount you typed. Your Steam ID is attached, in the same way and for the same reason as above.

Why it is sent

Steam achievements in PUZIGO are granted by our server rather than by the game on your PC. This keeps achievements meaningful: a modified game client cannot hand itself achievements it did not earn. Granting an achievement requires knowing which account earned it, which is what the Steam ticket establishes.

What is stored, and for how long

Completion recordsSteam ID, event ID, piece count, assist flag, time taken, game version, and the time we received it. Kept while the game is operated, so achievements can be re-granted if a Steam write fails.
Progress summaryYour highest completed piece count, and which no-assist milestones you have reached.
Session start timesDeleted as soon as the matching completion is accepted.
Anti-cheat logRecords of completions that failed validation. Automatically deleted after one year.
Save failure reportsOnly if you agree to send one. Steam ID and the fields listed under “If a save cannot be read” above. Kept while the game is operated, so that patterns across builds remain visible.

We do not store IP addresses. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes network-level information such as IP addresses to deliver requests and to block abuse; that is handled under Cloudflare's own terms and is not retained by us.

Save data

Your saves, settings, and completion history are stored on your own PC. If you have Steam Cloud enabled, Valve synchronises those files between your devices. We do not receive them.

Playing offline

PUZIGO is fully playable without an internet connection. Completions are queued on your PC and sent the next time you play online, so achievements are not lost.

Your choices

If you would like your records removed, contact us with your Steam profile and we will delete them. Note that achievements already granted are held by Steam, and can be cleared from your Steam profile.
